I created Evan and Eva as part of the English-speaking Happy Faces Marathon on Instagram. The goal was to create a perfectly matched couple. As I love fairies (I already shared quite a few with you in my shop), I decided to create a couple of spring fairies with flowery outfits that project us directly into this sweet season 🌸

🧚♀️ Inspiration 🧚♀️
It’s been 2 years since I crocheted fairies, since Helenna, the gingerbread fairy, and I missed it! I have always had a special affection for fairies. So I think it was the right time to make some news on my crochet hook 😊
For the pattern of Evan, it was a real challenge. Why? because this is the 1st time I crochet a male character! 😅 And me who loves crocheting little dresses for my dolls .. Here, I had to modify some basic elements for the body but also crochet a pair of pants and a top for him, something I had never done before on my patterns 🫣
To find inspiration on fairy men, I found the inspiration on some illustrations that I found on Pinterest. I wanted to give it a masculine side while keeping a delicate and magical one. I think I managed to create that on Evan the spring fairy. What do you think? 😊
For Evan’s colors and details, I obviously had to be careful that it was completely matched to Eva, his girlfriend! They have the same color code, the same wings and identical mini flowers. A perfect assortment while having very specific details for each one 🧚♀️
Finally, I imagined it also thinking of the children who will play with her. I tried to give it a look that will give wonder and stars in the children’s eyes so they can also see this little fairy in the flower field!
