It’s been a long time (more precisely a year) since I shared a crochet pattern for a doll. And I can tell you that I missed it! A doll is obviously longer to design than a small crochet accessory but each of them, it’s as if I literally gave them life. A tie is made for each and a place in my heart of crocheter 💗🥹
In January, Sarah (from @monpetithook on Instagram) contacted me to ask if I wanted to participate in a great adventure: the Save Spring crochet marathon. I didn’t hesitate to say yes!
This is actually the first Crochet Marathon I ever participated in 🥰
For the theme of this Marathon, I had to create an animal character and if possible, an animal that we don’t see much in crochet.
After a half-day research of what I was going to do and some sketches, Chloé the sow was born (well under my pencil of course 🤭)! 15 days later, she was finally born from my crochet hook!
Many people were able to crochet it for free during this Marathon and all the versions of Chloé were beautiful ❤️ Thanks to all participants 😘

💗 Inspiration 💗
Why a sow/wild boar? As I said above, it is an animal that we rarely see crocheted.
But my other inspiration at that time is related to the news in France in January 2025 and the little Rillette. I don’t know if you saw the news at the time but a too cute sow was threatened with euthanasia because the prefecture did not want to give permission to the person who held her on the grounds that she could be dangerous. And yet .. this sow was totally harmless. Found in a garbage and raised by this person, Rillette behaved more like a dog (with whom she played a lot) than like a wild boar. When the court’s decision was not to euthanize her, I must confess that I was very relieved!
So this little Rillette inspired me directly Chloé 🥰
And for her outfit all flowery and colorful? Well, as the theme of the Marathon is spring, I had to make her a nice spring outfit 🌸
I managed to make a wild boar super cute, you don’t think? 🤭🥰
🐗 Some technical details about Chloé the sow 🐗
The pattern of Chloé, the sow, is quite suitable for crocheters who are used to making dolls.
Another very important point (at least for me who doesn’t like it too much), this pattern of Chloé, the sow, is almost seamless! Yes, yes, you will need glue to assemble all the elements and your crochet hook for other parts 😉
This crochet pattern will also allow you to learn a stitch that I use a lot in my patterns to create sharp edges. An explanatory video is also available on my YouTube channel if you want to see what I’m talking about. I used this point for its legs, which gives beautiful hoof shapes!
This pattern is suitable for crocheters with a intermediate level.
