Hello Rainbows 🌈

The month of November already rhymes with Christmas and its preparations! It’s one of my favorite times of the year and this year, I want to prepare my Christmas decorations even more early 😄 Have you already started them too?
In terms of decoration, what could be better than crocheting them yourself! It is in this spirit that I share with you this first pattern of this period (yes yes there will still be others 😉): Santa Claus garland 🎅

Simple and quick, it will allow you to add this cute little touch to your decor, whether in your home or as decoration for your photos on social networks during the holidays. You can also test it in different colors 😊
This pattern will also allow you to use up all your little leftover balls that you don’t know what to do with!
It is perfectly suited for beginner crocheters. Do not hesitate to share your little wonders on Instagram 😃

🎅 Material you need🎅

• Crochet hook 2.5 mm
• Cotton yarn (fingering) : Green, Red, Beige, White, Black
• Textile adhesive or glue
• Wool needle
• Stitch markers

▶ Gifts x4 🎁

➡ The base of gifts

Make 2 in green and 2 in red.

R1 : CH 7 + CH 1 (8)
R2 : from the 2nd stitch, sc in each sc (7)
R3 to R8 : CH 1, turn and sc in each sc (7)

Keep the yarn for the next step.

Borders

Pick up where you left off and work CH 1. Then make 6 SlSt by tucking in the stitches at the edge of the gift.

Arrived at the next side of the gift, make CH 1 and make 7 SlSt, always tucking into the stitches at the edge.

CH 1 again and 6 SlSt on the stiches at the edge.

And finally, CH 1 and 7 SlSt on the last side of the gift.

Fasten off and weave in ends.

➡ The base of the gift ribbon

Make 2 with green and 2 with red.

R1 : CH 8 + CH 1 (9)
R2 : from the 2nd stitch, sc in each sc (8)

Keep the yarn for later.

➡ Assembly gifts

For red gifts, glue the green ribbon by placing it in the middle as in the photo opposite, leaving the bow at the top.

For green gifts, glue the red ribbon.

▶ Santa’s head x3 🎅

➡ The base of the head

In beige

R1 : magic ring with 6 sc
R2 : 1 Inc in each sc (12)
R3 : *4 sc, 2 Inc* x2 (16)
R4 : *5 sc, 3 Inc* x2 (22)

Fasten off and make an invisible finish.

In white

R5 : Skip 1 stitch from from where we left off and make 1 ssc, then 11 sc.
Continue with:
-> [3 sc]
-> 1 hdc
-> *[3 dc], [2 hdc]* x3
-> 1 hdc
-> [3 sc]
(total of 35 stitches)

Fasten off and make an invisible finish.

➡ The mustache

to be done with white.

R1 : CH 7 + CH 1 (8)
R2 : from the 2nd stitch, 1 SlSt, 1 sc, [2 sc], 1 SlSt, [2 sc], 1 sc, 1 SlSt (9)

Fasten off, Pass the yarns at the back and tie a double knot.

➡ The Christmas hat

to be done with red.

R1 : CH 5 + CH 1 (6)
R2 : from the 2nd stitch, sc in each sc (5)
R3 : CH 1, turn, sc in each sc (5)
R4 : CH 1, turn, 1 dec, 1 sc, 1 dec (3)
R5 : CH 1, turn, sc in each sc (3)
R6 : CH 1, turn, 1 dec, 1 sc (2)

Fasten off, Pass the yarns at the back and tie a double knot.

➡ The pompom of the hat

To be done in white.

R1 : magic ring with 4 sc and 1 SlSt to close the row (4)

Fasten off keeping a good length for sewing the hat and hanging it on the cord later.

➡ Assembly of the hat

Sew the pompom to the top of the hat over the width of 2 stitches and pass the white yarn behind.

Tie a knot with the 2 remaining white yarns. Cut the shortest and keep the longest to hang from the garland cord later.

➡ Assembly Santas

Glue the mustache to the head, positioning it as in the photo opposite, leaving 1 row of beige underneath.

Embroider the eyes with the black yarn as in the photo opposite and passing it twice for each eye.

Glue the hat to the top of the head for a height of 2 rows.

▶ The cord

To be done in red.

R1 : make CH 128 leaving enough yarn at each end of the cord (about 10 cm)

▶ Assembly garland end 🎅🎁

Count 16 stitches from the first end of the cord and insert the yarn of your first green-based gift, leaving about 2 cm of yarn between the gift and the cord.

Then, tuck the yarn back into the red ribbon of the gift and secure the yarn by passing it through the red ribbon several times and tie a double knot at the back.

Count again 16 stiches and insert the white yarn of a Santa Claus and sew it against the cord (without leaving space). Secure the yarn at the back of the pompom by passing it several times and making a double knot.

Alternate green gift / Santa Claus and red gift, spacing 16 stitches each time until the patterns run out.
