Hello Rainbows ! 🌈
I present to you the crochet pattern of Gaelia, the Easter fairy who adds a fantasy side to this party 🐰
If you would like other patterns in the Easter theme, there are plenty available on my site!
I am sharing with you now this crochet pattern of the doll Gaelia, the Easter fairy, for free below and also in PDF format on my shop if you want to keep it with you!
🐰 Its little story 🐰
“I love Easter! This is the dayI look forward to the most during the year. I put on my best dress, my bunny ears headband and took my basket to collect eggs. I had found a lot of eggs hidden all over the forest. My basket was full of them! But, I had a moment of inattention and my basket was found empty in the blink of an eye. Surely another prankster joke … Help me find some eggs so as not to spoil my Easter.“
To see her in more detail, I made a little video for you 😊
🐣 Inspiration 🐣
I created the crochet pattern of Gaelia, the Easter fairy, by imagining little fairies addicted to chocolates who wander in the gardens in search of small Easter eggs.
If you like this style of doll like Gaelia, other doll crochet patterns are waiting for you on my site like Gaïa, the Mother Earth, or Rosa, the fairy of roses.
🐇 Technical details about Gaelia the Easter fairy 🐇
Among the advantages of this crochet pattern, it is very easy and quick to realize whether you are an advanced beginner or an intermediate level. I have also well detailed each of the steps so that you succeed as easily as possible and especially without overthinking it!
This crochet pattern will also teach you how to strengthen wings for a nice effect. It will also allow you to crochet a nice basket to accommodate Easter eggs.
Its pattern is suitable for people with an intermediate level of crochet.

Fasten off and weave in ends for the 1st part.
Keep the yarn for the 2nd part to assemble them afterwards.
Big wings assembly
-> TIP: To make the wings more rigid, I reinforced them with thin cardboard. You can also assemble the two parts of the large wings without adding this cardboard.
-> For cardboard, trace the shape of your wing
on cardboard to cut out the shape.
To avoid a brown demarcation, also glue white paper on the cardboard.

The small wings x2
R1: CH 10
R2: CH 1, 2 sc, 3 hdc, 3 dc, (2 tr in the same stitch) + (7 tr in the same stitch) + (2 tr in the same stitch) + 3 dc, 3 hdc, 2 sc
Fasten off and weave in ends fort the 1st part.
Keep the thread for the 2nd part to assemble them afterwards.
Small wings assembly
I haven’t reinforced them with cardboard here.
Assemble the two parts by making CH 1 + SlSt all along + CH 1 in the corner + sc on the part at the base which is right
🐰 The basket
(to be done with brown cotton yarn and crochet 2.5 mm)
The base of the basket
R1: CH 5
R2: CH 1 + 3 sc + (4 sc in the same stitch) + 2 sc + 1 Inc (11)
R3: *1 Inc, 1 sc* x2 + 3 Inc + *1 sc, 1 Inc* x2
R4: 3 Inc + 3 sc + 2 Inc + 1 sc + 2 Inc + 5 sc + 2 Inc
R5: with the stitch to go up the edge (see detailed explanations in video), sc in each sc
R6: sc in each sc (normal stitch)
R7: only taking back loop, sc in each sc
R8: with the 2 loops, sc in each sc
R9: only taking back loop, sc in each sc
R10: SlSt in each sc for the border
Fasten off and weave in ends.
The basket handle
R1: CH 11
R2: CH 1 + 11 sc
Keep enough yarn at both ends to sew the handle at the base.
Basket assembly
-> Pass one of the threads from one end of the handle through the stitches of the loop to bring it out at the other end.
You then have a thread at each end.
-> Sew the handle in the inner edge of the basket by positioning yourself in the middle of it (fold the basket in 2 to locate the middle with the 2 edges).
-> Weave in ends.

🐰 Assembly and finishes 🐰
-> Put the dress on Gaelia up to her arms.
-> Put a dot of glue in front and behind between the dress and the body so that it holds well in place
(important for the weight of the wings then)
Glue the bow on the top of the dress, on the very first rows of the dress, letting the threads show in
front.
-> For the hair, glue the base of the hair to the head by positioning the middle of the base with the middle of the head.
-> Position the strands in the same way as the photo opposite with the left side where there are a little more strands than the right side.
First start gluing the strands on the right side, leaving a slight gap with the lashes without touching them.
We will then stick strand to strand as follows:
- For the strands of the 1st row (the outer row), glue them on about 5 cm (1.96 inches) in length, leaving a gap the width of a strand between each.
- For the strands in the center of the base, glue them in the visible gaps and over other strands evenly (about 5 cm also).
Place pins on each strand to hold them well when drying. Leave for a few hours to dry before removing the pins.
Find more magic patterns ✨
-> To assemble the ears with the headband:
- along the 31 sc of the headband, mark off 10 sc from each side.
From the 11th sc this is where you start to sew the ears - they are sewn over a length of 4 sc and on the middle row of the strip.
- There should be 3 sc between each one, in the middle.
Then glue the headband on the head. The ears should be well positioned above the head, in a straight line with the eyes.
Use the pins to hold it in place for drying.
To assemble the little and big wing:
- position the outside corner of the little wing at the outside corner of the big wing slightly at an angle as in the photos below.
- Sew the little wing onto the big wing just to the right side of the base (the 4 sc). Then glue it on the big wing on the part that touches it lengthwise to hold it in place.
Sew the wings to the back of Gaelia’s body, directly into her dress, positioning yourself in the middle. Leave a slight space (approximately 1 row) between each wing.
You can also glue them but it will not have the same effect with the wings which are movable by sewing them.
For the laces on Gaelia’s shoes:
Position yourself in the 2nd row of the shoe from the top (just on the slight hollow) and tuck your thread to bring it out opposite 1 row below.
Do the same for the other strand of the cross in the opposite direction, bringing out the thread
in the starting hole. Tie a knot, cut the thread and pull it in.
For Gaelia’s nose, position yourself at the level of the first row under the eyes, in the middle of the 2 eyes. The nose should be 2 sc wide. Pass your
thread twice.
For the cheeks, position yourself under the eyes and, using a pink blush, lightly apply makeup to a height of about 2 rows.
For the bottom of the ears of the bunny headband, also with your pink blush, apply it lightly in the hollow of each of the ears.
